Hello Everyone,
I would like to say that we are now in our 3rd week of this term, can you believe it? It seems to go so fast. I have elected to be a mentor for new students this term and I love it. I get to tell them about Kaplan University, what to expect from online classes, and give them advice on being a student. I told them how much I enjoy being a student and how much fun it is. I also told them that it's alright to be scared, most students are in the beginning. I tell them of the resources that are available to them such as the resource center. I gave them some advice such as starting on the final projects early and also to go to the Kaplan library and check it out. I told them they would be spending a lot of time there. I also tell tehm that all of my professors have been very informative and are eager to help any way they can. They want you to succeed as well. I told them to ask questions and if they needed help to just ask for it. Even their fellow classmates would be happy to help I'm sure.
Well, I am going to close for now. I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday.

Student life...
Hello everyone,
I just finished the first week of my fourth term at Kaplan University. I can't believe that I am already into the fourth term, the time seems to go by so fast. My new professors seem to be very nice and I have found them to be very insightful and helpful as well. I am very happy about that. I am currently taking College Composition II for Health Professionals and Anatomy and Physiology II (Honors). My current GPA is 3.62 and I am in the Honors and on the Dean's List. I am extremely proud of this considering how awful my grades were when I was in high school. Well, I will stop for now. I hope everyone is enjoying my blog.

My Introduction
Hello, my name is Tamie. I am 37 years old and a divorced mother of two wonderful boys. Their ages are 10 and 18. I am currently attending Kaplan University Online. I am working towards becoming a Medical Assisstant. I am in my 4th term and I am loving the whole experience. I was a horrible student when I went to high school. I am relieved to find that I make a much better college student. I have been able to stay on the Dean's List and I couldn't be more proud of myself.
In my spare time I like to be with my family and friends. They are very important to me. I was raised by my grandparents, so I have old fashioned values. they taught me to be respectful to everyone, love often, and have a lot of fun along the way. We didn't have much when I was little, but what we did have was each other and they made that enough. I will never be able to thank them enough for everything they have done for me.
The past 5 years have been real rough for me. I got a divorce in 2005. My oldest son had a lot of trouble with peer pressure in high school. This in turn landed him in re-hab and eventually in jail. He spent a year in jail and he was released in October 2009. Since he's been home he has showed me and the rest of the family how much he grew up while he was in jail. He has become a very respectable young man and I am so very proud of him. He completely turned his life around. He even recieved his G.E.D. while in jail. I think that's partly why I decided to get a better education.
My youngest son has been a joy. He is doing well in school and we have fun together. We spend time watching our favorite shows together. One of our favorite shows is on the SyFy Channel. We get excited when that day comes every week.
Well, I hope that I haven't bored you with the details of my life.
Until next time,
Tamie
